Joining the global community to commemorate International Women's Day 2016, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa has called for gender equality, especially in the areas of education and employment. Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the Friendraiser Community 2016 International Women's Day event in Abuja on March 8, 2016, H.E. Mrs. Toyin Saraki, Founder of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA) and Wife of Nigeria's Senate President, stated, "In all sectors, women continue to suffer from gender inequality, which unequivocally hinders advancement.

In a private visit to the United States of America to mark 2016 Black History Month, H.E. Mrs. Toyin Saraki, Wife of the Nigeria Senate President and Founder of the leading maternal and child health NGO - the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, attended the final music concert of the Obama administration, "Smithsonian Salutes Ray Charles: In Performance at the White House," on the 24th of February at the kind invitation of President Barack Obama and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama.

With the recent deaths of 25 children in Lagos State attributable to febrile rash illnesses (FRIs), the Wellbeing Foundation Africa – a leading maternal and child health NGO, is creating awareness of childhood febrile rash illnesses and associated diseases, in order to curb the spread of the diseases and aid in the prevention of needless deaths of children in Nigeria.
