The Wellbeing Foundation Africa and Mothers2Mothers recently held discussions on potential areas of collaboration to strengthen maternal, newborn, and child health initiatives in Nigeria. While the partnership is yet to be formalised, both organisations expressed strong interest in aligning efforts and building on shared goals.
During the meeting, WBFA’s Kelvin Agagbe outlined the Foundation’s interest in finalising a Memorandum of Understanding ahead of upcoming global engagements. Representatives from Mothers2Mothers, including Chinyerem Immanuel and Kalu Uko, shared insights into their ongoing work and highlighted opportunities for joint activities in HIV-related interventions, facility-based education sessions, and community outreach.
The dialogue also touched on possible collaborative engagements with pregnant women, as well as wider community activities such as handwashing demonstrations and health testing at outreach events. Both organisations agreed on the importance of strengthening communication and continuing to refine strategies before moving forward, with Kyangchat Dauda nominated as a focal point for this exploratory phase.
While discussions remain at an early stage, the meeting underscored a shared commitment to advancing maternal and community health through stronger partnerships.
