On 5th August 2025, at the UN House, Abuja, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA) was honoured to be represented by our Founder-President, H.E. Toyin Saraki, together with our Directorate and frontline programme, policy, and advocacy team leads from across Nigerian states, at a bilateral meeting with Mr. Koessan Kuawu, Deputy Representative of @UNFPANigeria, and esteemed colleagues from @UNFPA.

This important engagement reaffirmed WBFA’s strategic alignment with UNFPA’s country programme priorities, particularly through evidence-based, locally embedded approaches that build on our proven interventions and institutional expertise. Together, we are advancing integrated solutions in maternal health, adolescent development, and health systems strengthening. Our shared goal remains clear: to translate global commitments into tangible, lasting improvements in the lives of women, girls, and families across Nigeria.
On behalf of WBFA, H.E. Toyin Saraki expressed deep appreciation for our longstanding collaboration with UNFPA. This partnership reinforces the National Population Commission framework in analysing, shaping, and consolidating progress towards the ICPD25 commitments—zero preventable maternal deaths, zero unmet family planning needs, and zero sexual and gender-based violence. These shared priorities, embedded within the FP2030 and ICPD30 milestones, reflect our collective determination to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.

As a proud ICPD25 International Steering Committee Member, UNFPA Family Planning Champion, and lifelong advocate for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) systems strengthening, H.E. Toyin Saraki emphasised WBFA’s role as it enters its third decade of implementation. WBFA continues to serve as a catalytic model for turning ICPD commitments into measurable, community-level impact across Nigeria.
This meeting not only highlighted the value of partnership and shared priorities but also underscored the importance of aligning national strategies with global frameworks. By combining policy engagement with on-the-ground capacity building, WBFA and UNFPA are ensuring that progress moves beyond dialogue into meaningful action for the health and wellbeing of women and families.
