The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA) Kwara Programs Team visited the Kwara State Commissioner for Social Development, Hon. Mariam Nnafatima Imam (PhD), as part of preparations for the upcoming Dettol Hygiene Quest (DHQ) Ambassador Induction Workshop and State Closeout Event.
Chief Programs Manager Kehinde Akinsola shared updates on WBFA’s WASH interventions, the progress of the DHQ programme, and plans for phase 3 expansion. Hon. Imam commended WBFA’s measurable impact in Kwara State and confirmed her participation in the Ambassador Induction Workshop on Thursday, 2 October.
Discussions focused on expanding the DHQ programme to schools for children with disabilities and orphanages, strengthening collaboration with the Ministry of Health, and sustaining impact through Hygiene Quest Clubs and the onboarding of new schools in the next phase.
Hon. Imam also shared her personal experience with DHQ’s impact, noting that her daughter now practices proper handwashing steps at home.
WBFA is committed to scaling hygiene education, improving health outcomes, and ensuring lasting behaviour change by collaborating with the health ministry and social development ministry in Kwara communities.
