Welcoming Dr. Adebukola Shittu-Muideen as WBFA Country Director and Executive Director

Leadership rooted in experience, vision, and community-centred values is essential for driving meaningful health outcomes. The Wellbeing Foundation Africa was delighted to officially welcome Dr. Adebukola Shittu-Muideen as our new Country Director and Executive Director, based at our Kwara Office.

Dr Bukola brings to WBFA a distinguished track record as a public health physician and health systems specialist with more than 15 years of experience shaping and implementing transformative health and social initiatives across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. Her work has consistently reflected a deep commitment to equity, quality, and sustainability in healthcare, with a particular focus on strengthening primary health systems and advancing gender-responsive service delivery.

Her leadership journey has seen her hold pivotal roles, including coordinating the Kwara State Health Insurance programme, where she contributed to expanding access to affordable healthcare for thousands of families, as well as consulting for UNICEF and other international organisations on critical public health strategies. With such extensive expertise, Dr Bukola’s appointment signals not only a continuation of WBFA’s mission but an expansion of the organisation’s capacity to deliver programmes that are grounded in evidence, responsive to local needs, and aligned with global best practices.
