The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA) deeply regrets to announce the sudden loss of our dear colleague and friend, Mrs. Felicity Aliana Ukoko (née Mapuvire), who passed away on Sunday 15^th October 2017.

While it is unfortunate that a suspected viral disease, characterized by fever, skin eruptions and body pains, is afflicting people in some parts of Bayelsa State, in southern Nigeria.

Recognising the need to provide support and care for pregnant women and other women of childbearing age, especially those living in marginalised or low-income communities, The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), led by its Founder-President, Her Excellency Mrs. Toyin Ojora Saraki, partnered with Africa Clean Up Initiative on its finale event for the Beyond Waste Pregnant Women Engagement Workshop.

The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), the continent's leading maternal and child health charity, is attending the 72nd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), this week in New York, where the Foundation’s team will continue their mission to increase investments in health infrastructure, while imploring national governments, the private sector and NGOs to commit to universal health coverage (UHC).

I am honored to be here today, and to share this special moment and high point of Rt. Honourable Dr. Ali Ahmed’s career, and to share my admiration of his achievement, as a former classmate of the Nigeria Council of Legal Education's Law School Class of 1989. 

Breast milk is the baby’s natural food, easily digested, and containing all the nutrients the baby requires for the first six months. It reduces the risk of infections and poor growth, and it is also a perfect way to bond with the baby. Breastfeeding is good for the mother, too; it lowers the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer. Mothers who breastfeed find it easier to lose the weight gained during pregnancy.

Toronto, Monday 19 June 2017 – A high-level health forum met in Toronto today to address the global state of midwifery and is calling for urgent global policy reform and recognition of midwifery to help save millions of mothers and newborns around the world. 

Founder-President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), HE Toyin Ojora-Saraki and the WBFA global team participated in the 11th Biennial U.S.-Africa Business Summit organised by Corporate Council on Africa in Washington DC on Friday 16 June. Mrs. Saraki was invited to speak at the panel discussion: “Africa Rising: Expanding Social Impact on The Continent.”

As global development stakeholders commemorated World Menstruation Hygiene Day, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, led by Toyin Saraki, Wife of Nigeria's Senate President has expanded its landmark Adolescent Skills and Drills Personal Social And Health Education campaign to teenage girls in the Abuja metropolis, Federal Capital Territory, delivering confidence building information on menstrual hygiene to the students of Anglican Catholic School.
