Health for All Champion: We need UHC now more than ever

Toyin Saraki, named by Devex as the ‘Global Health for All Champion’, marked Universal Health Coverage Day today and called for greater efforts to be made to bring about quality, equitable and accessible healthcare around the world.

The Wellbeing Foundation Africa, as an implementing partner of the Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Programme in Lagos and Kaduna, today congratulates the Lagos State government and other partners on the official launch of the media campaign to improve IYCF practices within the state. The “Start Strong” campaign was formally launched today by the Honourable Commissioner of Health for Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris.

Toyin Saraki today joined Her Excellency Mrs. Jeannette Kagame, First Lady of Rwanda, Her Excellency Mrs. Martine Moise, First Lady of Haiti and Her Royal Highness Sarah Zeid, Princess of Jordan on the Women of Impact: Global Leaders Creating Positive Change plenary panel at the International Conference on Family Planning in Kigali, Rwanda.

Toyin Saraki, Founder-President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), has welcomed the commitments by leading international organisations to develop a joint plan to speed up progress on the 2030 global agenda, as announced at the World Health Summit in Berlin this week.

To mark Global Handwashing Day, lessons highlighting the importance and benefits of proper handwashing with soap were given across Nigeria by Toyin Saraki, the Wellbeing Foundation and Unilever Lifebuoy on Monday 15th October.

As part of events to mark the International Day of the Girl Child on 11th October, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa took its PSHE programme to schools across Lagos, Kwara and Abuja.
