The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA) has released its ground-breaking ‘Rapid Assessment of the Prevention and Control of Cancer in Nigeria’ report, the first independent national research on cancer provisions. The study, led by the WBFA with support from an Amref Health Africa research grant and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, comes on the heels of the launch of Nigeria’s Cancer Control Plan (NCCP) by the Federal Government earlier this month.

Today, in Abuja, the Wellbeing Foundation Africa hosted a stakeholders’ meeting to review the Rapid Assessment of the Prevention and Control of Cancer in Nigeria report, a collaborative study undertaken by the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, with support from Amref Health Africa. 

The 2018 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are taking place in Washington DC this week, alongside the Civil Society Policy Forum, which provides a platform for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to engage in dialogue and exchange views with World Bank Group and IMF staff, their peers, government delegations, and other stakeholders on a wide range of topics.

As the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) convenes today to address shared global challenges, H.E. Mrs Toyin Ojora Saraki, Founder-President of the Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), has called on leaders to commit to Universal Health Coverage and to place midwives at the heart of their health systems.
