WBFA participated in the GBC Health’s Corporate Alliance for Malaria in Africa Annual Technical Forum. The WBFA’s Executive Director, Temitayo Erogbogbo moderated a panel on Accelerating Achievement of MDG 4 and 5: Strengthening Malaria Prevention and Treatment in Pregnancy and for Children Under 5. WBF illustrated the value of its Personal Health Record in facilitating discussion between healthcare workers and mothers about treatment, and the importance of demand creation and behavioural change in disease prevention.

During Safe Motherhood Week in May, WBF and WRAN joined forces with the Nigerian Ministry of Health to showcase the importance of safe motherhood and childbirth. Prior to Safe Motherhood Day, WBF generated public awareness of maternal and child mortality statistics for each Nigerian state via its WBFA 24- 7-365 Millennium Development Goals Countdown to 2015 campaign.
